“O” is an AI video installation created as part of a multi-year study into subconscious imagery through the Numaverse project. This award-winning artwork investigates subconscious imagery and its connections to real-life events, healing, creativity, synchronicity, and more. O draws its theme from ancient traditions and modern scientific research, bridging timeless wisdom with contemporary understanding. The installation features four videos displayed on large curved screens arranged in a circular formation, representing:
1) Waking stage
2) Dream stage (daily influences)
3) Dream stage (archetypes, myths, and symbolism)
4) Deep Sleep (collective consciousness and nothingness)
The Waking Stage video, featuring two large eyes, symbolizes waking reality. It is the least dynamic of the four, reflecting introspection and the act of looking inward. The two Dream Stages showcase actual dreams recorded and generated during the Numaverse studies. One video focuses on daily events and non-symbolic imagery, while the other delves deeper into archetypes, myths, and symbolic elements. The fourth video, Deep Sleep, represents a profound state of consciousness, drawing parallels to the concept of the “collective consciousness.” At the center of this screen lies a black circle, representing the deepest part of consciousness, referred to as “nothingness.”
This central black circle directly aligns with the black irises of the eyes on the Waking Stage screen. The alignment suggests a visual metaphor: the gaze of waking reality extending into the void of nothingness, symbolizing the universe observing itself.
The artist invites the audience to stand at the center of the circular arrangement of screens to “witness” all four stages with heightened awareness—an act embodying transcendence and enlightenment.
